She's like the wind

Toen onze kinderen 14 en 17 jaar oud waren gingen met de auto op vakantie naar Tsjechie, het was de gewoonte dat tijdens de autoritten in de vakantie muziek van de kinderen geluisterd werd. Mijn man had dan ook al zijn cassettebandjes ( nog geen cd's) uit de auto gehaald. na zo'n twee uur onderweg wilden ze muziek horen en werd gezocht naar hun bandjes, helaas hadden beiden alles thuis laten liggen, mijn dochter vond uiteindelijk één bandje, de muziek van Dirty Dancing. 14 dagen lang hebben we geluisterd naar dat ene bandje, steeds opnieuw en opnieuw en opnieuw. Toen we in een grotere stad andere muziek wilden kopen waren ze daar fel optegen, we waren al halverwege de vakantie en aangezien we allemaal melig werden van die liedjes wilden ze de rest van de tijd ook alleen maar dat horen. Dus steeds als ik deze muziek hoor denk ik terug aan onze tijd in Tsjechie, temeer omdat het de laatste vakantie met het hele gezin was. Onze zoon werd het jaar daarna 18 en ging liever met vrienden.

When our children were 14 and 17 years old, we had a family vacation by car to the Czech Republic. During our vacations it was tradition to listen to the music the children provided.
So my husband left all his tapes ( no cd's yet) at home. After an our or two they wanted to listen to music and they searched their tapes, unbelieveble, but they left all tapes at home, finally my daughter found one tape; Dirty Dancing. For 14 days we listened that tape over and over and over again. We wanted to buy us some other music in a bigger city but the kidds said NO,NO.
So we had no choice and listened again over and over and over the same songs.
Each time I now hear a song of this movie it reminds me of our vacation in the Czech Republic,
all the more because it was our last vacation as a family. Our son turned 18 the following year and spend his vacation with friends.
